Painted Porcelain Guanyin Statue on a Lotus Base

Description

A standing figure with warm painted detail

Guanyin stands on layered lotus petals, holding a small vase in one hand and a willow branch in the raised hand. Glossy white outer robes frame an amber-to-cream inner gown. Pink-tipped petals, a rose-colored scrolling pedestal, turquoise-colored crown details and gold-colored lines give this piece its distinctive palette.

Porcelain from Dehua

Made from white porcelain in Dehua, China, this Guanyin statue has a multicolor painted finish. Four heights let you choose a scale for your altar, console or display cabinet. Use the selected size’s front photograph to see that version’s proportions and details.

Guanyin and the symbolism of compassion

Lilian Guanyin (立莲观音) describes Guanyin standing on a lotus. Here, pink-tipped petals continue the warm color of the painted gown, while the willow and vase identify a familiar image of the bodhisattva of compassion. The glossy Dehua porcelain is a colored interpretation of that subject, with white outer robes framing the central amber tones.

Display and care

Place the statue indoors on a stable, level surface with enough clearance around the crown and raised hand. Lift it with both hands beneath the base, avoiding pressure on the branch, fingers or vase. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or brush; avoid abrasive cleaners.

Dimensions are approximate. The price is for one statue in the selected height, including its lotus base.
