Description

The wave-patterned pedestal gives this Sea-Crossing Guanyin figurine its distinctive shape. Curving lines rise beneath a ring of lotus petals, then continue through the folds of the robes. Above them, the upright vase and lowered gaze make a quiet contrast to the movement below.

Across the Waves, Holding a Vase

Sea-Crossing Guanyin brings a calm figure above the curling water, while the vase remains held close to the body. These two details form the Chinese name Duhai Jingping Guanyin (渡海净瓶观音): duhai means crossing the sea, and jingping refers to the pure-water vase.

The water vase is associated with Guanyin’s compassion and wisdom. Held close above the moving waves, it gives this sea-crossing Quan Yin a compact center of attention. Hanging beads and the layered pedestal add detail along the narrow standing form.

A Small Kuan Yin Statue for a Close View

The narrow proportions suit a small display space. A necklace, the hanging bead strand and layered lotus petals reward looking closely, while the gray, grain-textured surface keeps the folds clearly visible. The supplier identifies the material as Qingsha stone (青砂石).

Height, including the base: approximately 15.5 cm (6.1 in).
Length × width: approximately 4.4 × 4.3 cm (1.7 × 1.7 in).
Color: gray.
Includes one Guanyin figurine with the lotus-and-wave pedestal shown.

Place it on a level indoor surface, with a little space around the crown and robe edges. Lift from the base and body, and use a soft, dry brush to clear dust from the recesses. Furniture, lighting and other background props are not included.
