Dragon Guanyin Statue on a Lotus Leaf

Description

The dragon makes this Guanyin statue immediately recognizable: its horned head turns upward below the lotus leaf, while its long body curves behind the robe. Guanyin stands above it with crossed hands, a lowered vase and a slight smile. The leaf and waves form a compact base beneath the long standing figure.

Jianglong Kuan Yin

Jianglong (降龙), “dragon-taming,” is the Chinese design name. The dragon’s lifted head and turning body animate the lower half, while the crossed hands and still face of Jianglong Kuan Yin hold the upper composition together. The lotus leaf separates the two figures above the curling water.

A Glazed White Finish

The glazed white surface lets light define the folds, dragon whiskers and curling water. The photographs show this D03-017 model, including close views of its face, crossed hands and dragon head.

Placing the Glazed White Statue

The white D03-017 measures approximately 34 cm (13.4 in) tall, with a base measuring 13 × 12 cm (5.1 × 4.7 in). Leave room around the crown, dragon horns and projecting leaf rather than fitting the base tightly into a niche. A steady indoor shelf or altar lets the long standing silhouette be seen from below to above.

What You Receive

One glazed white D03-017 ceramic Guanyin statue, with the dragon, lotus leaf and wave base shown in its photographs. Support the base when lifting, avoid pressure on the fingers, vase and dragon details, and remove dust gently with a soft brush.
