Willow Branch Guanyin Statue with a Flame Halo
$1,399.00
A fine willow sprig rests in Guanyin’s raised hand, balanced by the slender vase held close to her body. The openwork flame halo gives this standing brass Kuan Yin a clear, graceful outline. In antique tea-gold or coral and gold, it offers a warm focal point for an altar, a console or a place set aside for reflection.

Description
The willow’s drooping leaves echo the long curves of Guanyin’s robes. Around her face, a ring of openwork flames rises to a pointed crest; below, bare feet meet a double lotus pedestal. This standing Willow Branch Guanyin statue brings together a composed expression and a particularly lively silhouette, with details that remain interesting from the side as well as the front.
The Willow Branch and the Water Vase
Willow Branch Guanyin takes its name from the sprig held in the raised hand. It corresponds to the Chinese name Yangzhi Guanyin (杨枝观音), with yangzhi referring to a willow branch. The branch and water flask are longstanding attributes of Guanyin, the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion, also known as Kuan Yin. They appear together in Chinese devotional sculpture dating back many centuries.
The willow curves outward while the vase stays close to the body. Behind them, an openwork flame halo frames the face without filling the space around it. That pointed surround distinguishes this standing Kuan Yin from willow figures with a simple crown.
Two Ways to Appreciate the Brass
Antique Tea-Gold sets warm gold-colored highlights against brown recesses, bringing out the folds of the robes and the layered lotus petals. Coral & Gold has cream and coral-patterned robes, gold-colored hands and face, and a deep red halo and lotus. The reverse of the halo is dark on both finishes; the rear photographs show it clearly.
Cast by the lost-wax method in Tongling, Anhui, the sculpture is made of brass. The colors describe the surface finish. The pierced halo, looping willow leaves and projecting vase deserve a little space around them so their shapes can be seen without a busy background.
Size and Placement
The listed height is approximately 45 cm (17.7 in), with the figure itself measuring 33.5 cm (13.2 in). The sculpture’s footprint is about 17 cm (6.7 in) in diameter. The round display base is separately specified at 19 cm (7.5 in) in diameter and 1.3 cm (0.5 in) high. Approximate product weight is 5 kg (11.02 lb).
You will receive one Guanyin statue in your selected finish, with the pictured round display base. Give it a level, sturdy indoor surface and support it from the base when moving it. Dust with a soft, dry cloth; avoid soaking, abrasive polishing and acidic cleaners, which can damage the colored surface.
