Zuolian Guanyin Statue with a Vase and Lotus Seat

Description

The Zuolian Guanyin statue gives a home shrine a gentle, attentive presence. One knee rises under the robe; the opposite foot rests across the lotus. The narrow vase, lowered eyes and small figure in the crown draw the gaze upward from the broad petals of the seat.

A Lotus Seat, a Raised Knee and a Vase

Zuolian (坐莲) means seated on a lotus. Made in Dehua, Fujian, this series offers the design in white porcelain and painted ceramic. Sculpted proportions and painted details vary slightly between sizes; the individual photographs show the figure you are selecting.

The Finish Changes the Character

White leaves the face, robes and lotus in a single glossy finish. White & Gold Trim adds painted features, fine gold-colored lines and pink shading on the petals while keeping the lower pedestal white. White & Multicolor Base carries that decoration down onto a green and gold-colored lower pedestal. Pink & Red shades the robe from pale pink to deeper red. Gold-Colored gives the robe a warm gold tone above a reddish lotus and dark base.

An Open Seated Pose

The raised knee gives Zuolian Kwan Yin a more open posture than a symmetrical, cross-legged figure. Below it, the rounded petals keep the composition grounded. White emphasizes that sculpted outline, while the painted finishes separate the robe, lotus and lower pedestal by color.

Find the Right Fit

Dimensions below are approximate and include the base. The Pink & Red versions measure 30 cm (11.8 in) and 35 cm (13.8 in) in the two smaller sizes; the corresponding white and other painted versions measure 30.5 cm (12.0 in) and 35.5 cm (14.0 in). All large versions are 40 cm (15.7 in).

Display and Care

One statue with its attached lotus seat is included. Supporting furniture and other objects shown in the video are not included. Display indoors on a stable surface and lift from beneath the base. Dust with a soft, dry brush, taking care around the crown, fingers and vase; avoid abrasive cleaners on painted details.
