Water Moon Guanyin Statue Holding a Lotus

Description

A lotus rises beside Guanyin’s shoulder. One arm rests on the raised knee, while the other leg folds across the front of the figure. The relaxed pose gives this ceramic statue a gentle presence on a personal altar.

Water Moon Guanyin, also called Shuiyue Guanyin, takes its name from the moon reflected in water. In Buddhist art, the reflection evokes the fleeting nature of appearances. The raised-knee posture is known as “royal ease.”

The lotus beside the shoulder distinguishes this Water Moon Kuan Yin from versions set against a rocky landscape. It keeps the composition centered on the seated figure and the open space around the raised knee.

In the white versions, light catches the smooth shoulders and folds of the robe. The teal-and-white figures have a different surface: pale faces and hands set against speckled, matte robes. The multicolor version adds a pink lotus, blue crown details and gold-colored painted accents. All are ceramic; the 35 cm (13.8 in) white option is white porcelain.

The smaller figure stands 29 cm (11.4 in) high and comes in white or teal and white. At 35 cm (13.8 in), all three color options are offered. Each selection has its own photograph, since the sculpted details and proportions vary between versions.

You will receive one statue in your selected size and color, packed in a brocade gift box. Display stands and other decorative objects are not included. Dimensions are approximate; inch measurements are converted from centimeters.

Allow room around the crown and lotus when choosing a shelf or altar. Keep the statue indoors on a stable surface, lift it from underneath with both hands, and dust with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Avoid pressure on the fingers or flower, and do not use abrasive cleaners.
