Standing Guanyin with a Water Vase (Jingping)

Description

Jingping (净瓶) is the Chinese name for the pure-water vessel associated with Guanyin’s compassion and wisdom. On this standing water-vase Guanyin, the tilted bottle opens the outline beside the long robe rather than resting upright in the lap.

Here, Guanyin holds the slender vessel with its opening tilted downward. The other hand rises beside the shoulder, while the lowered eyes and straight posture give the figure a composed expression. A veil frames the crown and falls over the shoulders; folds of robe gather above the bare feet.

Jingping Kuan Yin on a Lotus Pedestal

The rounded lotus petals form a broad base beneath the narrow standing figure. Beneath them, a second band of curved ornament gives the pedestal depth. The gray, finely textured surface keeps these small details visible without bright colour or a glossy finish.

This Jingping Quan Yin brings the water-vase motif to a modest tabletop scale: approximately 19.5 cm (7.7 in) high, with a footprint of 5.7 × 5.5 cm (2.2 × 2.2 in). Leave open space around the hands and vase so the downward gesture remains clear.
